In the new series “Wishful Minds”, the artist uses as a basis lithographs by Moritz Rugendas, which he made in Brazil in 1823, and combines them with animals she saw in Africa, as well as with photos of palm leaves.
Brazil is deeply rooted and connected to Africa, not only ethnologically but also geologically. This gave rise to the new photographic compositions, which suggest a longing of the animals for unspoiled nature.
The artworks are carefully printed on fabric and stretched on wooden frames to convey a certain warmth. They are available in various sizes.
The work is limited to 30 copies, and a numbered and signed certificate of authenticity is included.
