Marieke Prikling

The artist Mareike Prikling knows how to literally draw the viewer into the pictures with her exciting, fairytale-like play with texture and materiality. In her works, the artist creates a virtual vortex that lures the gaze into the depths.

On the one hand she structures the pictorial space, on the other hand she fragments these abstract realities. Visual chaos and optical harmony form a surprising and convincing connection.

The East Frisian landscape in which the artist lives serves her as inspiration and source of motifs, is abstracted according to selected characteristics and at the same time arranged structurally.

As a viewer, one is amazed at how the diverse influences from nature are reflected in her colorful abstract works.
