Alain LL Marie

Portrait of Alain L.L. Marie With his works, Alain Marie would like to stimulate the inner dialogue in the viewer in the sense of "recognize yourself" through "provocative" photos. Instead, the photos always have something to do with emptiness, infinity, being alone, loneliness or with the aesthetics of the ugly. Slight computer-controlled changes make it clear that another reality can hide behind reality (according to Watzlawick). The idea is to challenge the viewer's beliefs.

Career: The artist describes himself as rootless and a migrant in a double sense (professional and territorial).

Born in Marseille in 1946, he lived in different cultures due to his studies and work: Canada, Germany, Holland, Austria and finally Germany again.

Originally, Alain Marie holds a PhD in biochemistry (Canadian Ph.D. and French D.Sc.). He worked as a researcher for about 12 years in France, Canada and Munich. He then worked in the patent field in The Hague and in Munich. After completing his professional career, he devoted himself to his great passions, painting and photography.

Technique: His photos are printed on brushed aluminum plates. The "brushed" character leads to a special interaction with the light, which creates an increased luminosity.
