Claudia Tejeda
Claudia Tejeda, born in 1981, is a German/ Argentinian artist and photographer. From 2005-2008 she studied communication design with a focus on illustration at the Bildkunst Akademie in Hamburg. Her art is inspired by the indigenous roots of her Argentine father, from an early age she has been involved with the art and culture of this people and reinterprets them in her works.
Her surreal pictorial worlds, consisting of bizarre figures, are surrounded by explosive swirls of colour. Last but not least, her art was also shaped by her fondness for electronic music and her earlier experiences in Hamburg's nightlife. Claudia is a multichannel artist creating fusions of ethnic paintings and street photography, captured on her travels to New York, Amsterdam and Buenos Aires. It thus creates a modern, urban mysticism.
She has curated many of her exhibitions herself and has taken part in various international group and solo exhibitions, including in Miami, Barcelona and New York.
