The present work, executed in mixed media, presents an abstracted coastal landscape. The composition is dominated by the deep blue color area of the sea in the foreground, which is given a tactile texture through vertical and horizontal scratch marks. In the upper third, bright, pasty cloud formations contrast with a dark sky. A series of bright, almost luminous cliffs marks the horizon line and separates the dynamic sea from the upper half of the image. The lower part shows dark, almost chaotic structures with accents in ochre and white, reminiscent of churning shallows or an abstract representation of the seabed. The expressive use of color and the gestural brushwork place the work in the tradition of Abstract Expressionism or the informal painting of the post-war period.
