It is these areas of tension, this sensing, staging, skinning of feelings that make the process of painting an act of creation for Ute Kleist. Empathizing with ever new processes and new expeditions in color and the light unfolding in the color - bringing the unseen and unheard into an experience as a show, a non-verbal dialogue that cannot be surpassed in terms of tension. Topics such as love and the connection between people and nature, living space, encounters, pulsating life, silence, the everyday and the special - everything that touches the soul makes its way onto paper and canvas. Ute Kleist understands her art to be predominantly large-format, multi-layered, colorful and expressive.
And from time to time this desire arises to discolour oneself - in black and white - colors - to be conceivable and to be experienced in shades. This balancing act is (MY)ONE WAY to express myself. Large format - abstract - expressive - authentic - emotional.
